Scotland - Linlithgow MFC
Linlithgow Model Aircraft Club
At last we have managed to have an IPC when nine pilots turned up to have a go.
Temperature is always 3C lower at the field than at Linlithgow in the valley floor with the sunny clear blue sky producing a less than tropical 8C and the wind coming from the East coast always has less than favourable conditions for lift.
The Buzzards from the local forest quite often loured pilots into reasonable lift then disappeared just as quickly as they arrived.
Two new pilots had a go at the event, Mike McCracken and Peter Sherlicker, brother of Bob, who was F3j Team Manager for Team Canada in years gone by found the landings and for most of the other fliers were difficult as the ground was extremely firm, almost like concrete, as there has been a very dry spell of weather for weeks .
Just glad to be able to get some results posted.
Cheers

Switzerland - Model Air Club of Thun

Temperatures where rather high for early April at around 20°C. Sunny at the Start with light high foggy clouds during the flying wich restricted sun intensity. Very mediocre thermal Conditions with low wind from changing directions. Weak lift conditions - we have to go long distances to find some and - if found - bubbles where narrow and patchy. We flew before a weather change as rain began already late afternoon. We had to fight hard for the six minutes.

LIFT
The LIttle Finger Thermaleers ( LIFT ) Flew the International Postal Challege on Friday April 29th 2011.
This was the 4th time we tried to schedule a day for the clubs pilots to get together and fly. The postal was rescheduled each previous time due to rain and or high winds.
Seven club member showed up on the cold and windy morning of April 29th and only four of us were able to get our flights in.
The thermals was fast moving and seemed to break up randomly.
