LIFT Flying Field

The LIFT flying field is located on a mowed 40 acre field that is leased from a local farmer. A parking area is provided in the northeast corner of the field. Before entering the field, note where the launch lines are set up and avoid crossing them at any time.

Directions:
The field is located midway between Lake Ann, MI and Maple City, MI on County Rd 667 (Reynolds Road) about four hundreds yards south of the M-72 and County Road 667 intersection.

LIFT Flying Field Rules

  • All flying will be conducted in a safe manner consistent with AMA rules
  • Fliers must be AMA members. Prospective members can fly three times under the supervision of a member of LIFT, then must become a member of both AMA and LIFT
  • Flight Rules
    • High speed passes on maneuvers will be made no closer than 150 feet from launching area
    • High speed passes are not permitted over the launching area
    • Low speed landing approaches over the launching area are to be discouraged but if necessary the pilot is to warn persons in the launch area
    • Pilots who intend to make a high speed pass over the field should make certain that the area of the field is clear
    • Full scale aircraft should be avoided at all times
    • Winch operators should make certain that persons are clear of the line and turnaround before the winch is operated
    • Frequency pins should be used if more than two pilots are flying
  • No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed by pilots
  • The last member out of the field should lock the gate
  • No littering! Members should pick up extraneous litter
